I learned (some would say the hard way; I think it was still pretty graceful) that midwives without a resilient nervous system creates something that isn’t sustainable midwifery.
And without sustainable midwifery, we have dysfunctional midwives. Which leads to dysfunctional relationships with pregnant mamas, which leads to overall more birth trauma.
Making us think our world is more broken when in fact….we are all whole beings.
In our new midwifery school offering (soon to be revealed!) I have taken great time, passion and effort in making this sustainable midwifery more attainable.
I have created a course for our students that will come BEFORE any birth related knowledge. This offering is truly an OFFERING to create space, calm and learn to be in our own bodies.
I have learned that all the midwifery knowledge in the world is pretty useless if I’m totally stressed out, I’m afraid of that “what ifs” and if my relationship with clients is based on attachment wounds.
BAM.
We will be leaving room in this new course for all of this investigation into ourselves, and all the rabbit holes that go into showing up as an embodied woman.
I know I am here to do this work. To create this healing in midwifery, for all midwives who want it; past, present and future.
