Improving my own nervous system health has helped me in so many ways.
(Full disclaimer: after doing birth work for 15 years, it was ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY not just a “for fun” thing).
I have more energy for sure. How else could I get out in the ocean and catch waves for an hour?? I never could have done a bunch of years ago in the life I was living.
I am aware of my own capacity. For right now, that means saying no to women that want me to attend their birth in person. I am sure I will return to that, one day, but right now the limit in my body for birth attending is saying….no, not now.
I have more creative impulses and can follow them. I can’t wait to unveil the new midwifery offering in less than a month (with Margo!) because it’s going to be awesome, and I feel really aligned with the changes we are making and the new course content and videos I am making.
Working with your own system and getting to know your own body might have similar return for you. Or it may be different. If your nervous system is stressed beyond repair or you’re always in a state of anxiety or depression….I get it. The world we live in makes that a place to land that we can feel stuck in.
I’ve done the work, and will keep doing it. It’s not a magic pill but it helps.
I also believe that I am capable of being what I dream of, and living from that place.
You are capable too; even if you have traumas or issues going on in your body right now, you are whole and deserving of the life you dream about.
