Almost 5 years ago, I had my last baby. At age 43.
It was Covid time and the pregnancy, although healthy physically, was fairly stressful. As life was for many of us.
If you somehow missed it, or maybe you weren’t around these Indie Birth parts quite yet:) my 10th baby was born on a hospital table in what I (tongue in cheek) called a freebirth.
I titled his birth story, The Time I Had a Freebirth at the Hospital and it is a GREAT read.
I called it that because it was truly “free” and unhindered and beautiful, just like my 8 home births that had come before.
It was history in the making, and I can think of so many pregnant women and even doulas and midwives that were positively floored and positively influenced by reading his story.
So in honor of Rumi Sol’s 5th birthday, I am sharing his story again and I hope you can take whatever inspiration or beauty you need from it.
His story is a testament to a woman’s power, a baby’s strength and the way Spirit leads us and designs our lives even when things work out in a way that is surprising.
This story and experience is so perfect for inspiration; and because we have an awesome doula program we made, I am following that thread.
If was a doula, or wanted to be a doula, I would LOVE this story because it would mean that helping my clients isn’t a checklist thing and what they end up doing isn’t my story….plus, to know a hospital birth could be so amazing should inspire doulas everywhere.
If that doula or wanna-be-doula was me, I’d run, not walk, to get our Sacred Sisterhood Doula program for 50% off.
Rumi’s birthday is November 8th, so the extra special discount is good through that day.
Once we’ve had birthday cake, the sale is over:).
Birth can look like this and feel like this, no matter what.
THIS is the secret you can share with other women; not the dogmatic, boxed in version that only births that happen at home are powerful.
