I shared not one, two but THREE new “midwife stories” today for subscribers.
I’m obviously not going to re-tell those stories here, but I will share that it’s most fun to record these because SO MUCH comes into my memory and out into the microphone that I could not have predicted.
I almost started speaking of one of the birth stories when I was a student today, and instead my trip down memory lane turned into sharing about the twice-weekly drives down to my preceptors house.
When you are IN a midwifery apprenticeship, I feel you cannot even fully appreciate what you are absorbing because you are in the middle of it.
For example, when I was this new apprentice I would have said I was trying to remember the textbook stuff; what a normal blood pressure is or how we can “prevent” pre-eclampsia.
But the actual teachings of my apprenticeship came through today in the recordings and those are the wisdom moments where I’m like…WOW…..here’s what I ACTUALLY learned.
It took me 20 years in some cases to see and feel those lessons, and I am honored to share them with you.
Spoiler alert; there are birth stories that I offer as part of Midwife Stories but as I am seeing, the stories I have to share are about so much more.
Life, loss, apprenticeship and foundational lessons are all there for you to listen to, and if you choose, to learn from.
Or to simply listen to and see how your own life plays out in story around you.
If you subscribe to Midwife Stories you get all the recordings that are already there and then 2 more each month for the next 4 months.
I don’t know what I will do with this project when it’s “over”; so subscribe now and have access to all of these recordings no matter what.
oxoxo
