When I created the Circle 4 years ago, I had an idea of what I thought it would be. I had been working with and holding space for women and attending birth for more than 15 years; I certainly had experience bringing women together.
Most women don’t have many close relationships in person, and I imagined that in some ways it might be easier or better to create them online. Without the burden of (at times) of in person meangingless chit or chat or half a conversation at a birthday party where there is constant interruption. Nothing real has happened for me in those situations. I really dislike superficial conversation and still marvel at how that’s how most people move through life. For women, I feel like this way of connecting is devoid of life.
I craved the intimate chats I had over the years. I wanted something that would stick around, like the relationships I made with women and their babies decades ago. I was done with the shallow, social media world of “sisterhood” (often fake) and ceremony and ritual becoming something that is just for show, just for a photo or reaction.
I wanted real. Real women and real sisterhood. The messy. The ugly. The complicated. The beautiful way that when women say they will do something, they do it (Circle women anyway). The powerful way that women ARE.
But all with setting and respecting boundaries and having awareness. No more women drama for me. No victims, gaslighting or backstabbing. Pure, and real; respect and love.
I didn’t fully know then what I know now. Real connection and getting to know other women at a fairly deep level truly takes time. Maybe the length of a pregnancy, or maybe even longer.
It can’t be rushed. It takes showing up, working on your own shit and allowing yourself to be vulnerable in a world where women really don’t have anything this authentic. The mainstream world shows us women competing all of the time, judging each other and gossiping. I had much higher hopes for this Circle.
The women that ARE the circle have made it what it is. The compassion, empathy, encouragement, inspiration, open-heartedness and wisdom that comes through when we meet is divine. It is more than the individual; the sum is greater than the parts. The Circle isn’t a thing you come into; it’s an energy we are all creating.
WHO THIS IS FOR:
This is for women that recognize that the slow and steady route is how we actually change for the better. A year is a long time, in some ways, and especially for people that want a quick fix or formula or thing they can go do. I believe in slow connections and relationship and not rushing yourself to some artificial goal. Because that is not the Feminine Way. This is for women that can handle it being slower, and being patient enough to put in their own dedication and work for 12 months before assessing “progress”. I promise you will be a different woman, but I have no idea what that looks like for you.
This is a simple call for more resonant women to join us. It’s been said by members that the Circle feels like our little secret in this tiny corner of the world; I will trust that if you want to know what that is, you will join us.
PRACTICAL STUFF:
Cost is $999 for the year. We meet twice a month, the 2nd/4th Sunday at 9 am HST. All meetings are recorded for members but showing up makes the Circle.
My promise is to always be there (knock on wood, I have never missed one!) and to continue to set the grounded, consistent energy, and allow the real magic between women to happen in this safe and confidential container. Our pace is deliberate and we are often guided by the seasons, the energies of the Earth and Stars, our psyches and our bodies and by what is happening in the lives of our Circle members.
This is a place to show up for yourself, a place to be seen and heard. It is also a place to give and receive. Our paths as women are all so different but to me, it seems like we have so much to offer each other on this journey of life.
